聯儲局於議息後美國時間2:00p.m.發出的新聞稿，內容與上次議息會議大致相同，除一句：
「In determining the pace of future increases in the target range, the Committee will take into account the cumulative tightening of monetary policy, the lags with which monetary policy affects economic activity and inflation, and economic and financial developments.」
「未來決定加息步伐時，會考慮連續緊縮貨幣政策對經濟活動、通脹及經濟發展的滯後影響。」

市場解讀此句態度偏「鴿」，認為聯儲局開始關注緊縮貨幣政策的滯後問題。惟其後2:30p.m.鮑威爾於記者會的言論及態度明顯「放鷹」，令三大指數不升反跌。
